Archive original BD protected. #MAKEMKV RIP BLU RAY MOVIE#Sounds like this is my process, then (please comment, or correct):Ģ.) AnyDVD HD in background, rip movie to. m2ts files into one large cat'd file, or I can eac3to, but that only handles the video.and I would have to remux the audio, correct? I have tried muxing separately, but always ended up with audio drift that always (at some point, during playback) became unacceptably out of sync. So, if I understood what you are saying correctly, with regard to single file output, I can either use TSMuxer (which I have done before) to combine the. I will definitely have to look into this. the eac2to program is one that I have not heard of, but sound VERY useful. Unless, getting only 5.1 from the 7.1 stream will require more processing time to do the transcode. Nitro - 5.1 is the most audio that I will require. You'd never see the main track switch from, say, English to Spanish half way through a film. Don't worry though, if one m2ts file has the tracks a particular order, than the other m2ts files of the same playlist will have the same tracks in the same order. Once you select a playlist in eac3to, it will tell you what the m2ts files contain and in what order. That method saves space and is a bit quicker, but obviously only joins the video.Ĥ. The 2nd way, the one that I personally do, is to remux the main video stream with eac3to into an mkv. The downside to this is that more space than the other way, but keeps all video, audio, and subtitle streams in the m2ts file. The first takes is to concatenate the m2ts files into one big one using something like TSMuxer. To get a single file, you can proceed one of two ways. If you don't like command line utilities, you can check out some eac3to GUIs.ģ. Luckily though, eac3to, a handy command line utility can read the playlists from a Blu-ray and tell you in which order the m2ts files go. #MAKEMKV RIP BLU RAY HOW TO#During the encoding process, though, this can get a little complicated if you don't know how to determine which file goes where. The reason for this is that for movies with multiple editions or angles, it's more space efficient to reuse the duplicate scenes than to not. The contain a large number of small m2ts files that are concatonated upon playback. Bolt, Ratatouille, WALL-E, Gladiator, and lots of other films are seamlessly branched. I personally do everything from the command line without a GUI for more flexibility, but use whatever is easiest for you.Ģ. There are different GUIs available, such as MeGUI, but in the end, they all use x264 and can output identical results. RipBot264 is fine as it uses the best H.264 encoder you can get: x264. ![]() However, this file only had an English audio stream, so obviously the resulting output was in English.ġ. ![]() ![]() The file output was 1/10th the size (20MB) and looked freaking great. ![]() M2TS file into RipBot264, selected the HQ profile, CQ #22, Dolby True DTS, blah blah blah. I also have the supporting codecs: Halli Matroska Splitter, AviSynth 2.5, ffdshow tryouts, CoreAVC, AC3 Filter, etc. Same principles apply, just different structure in the files (as far as the streams). Let me say that I am not a stranger to this entire process, but I've not done it on Blu-Ray. I know that this is just the audio that's being played because it's the first one in the stream. M2TS files, the audio is in Spanish on this particular title (Bolt). This allows me to have the original copy online, and also to manipulate the version with the copy protection removed.ģ.) Once the files are ripped to the hard drive, with the protection removed, I know that I need the STREAM folder contents. ISO image with Daemon Tools, with AnyDVD HD running in the background, and rip the files from the original. Here's what I have so far:ġ.) AnyDVD HD ripped Disc, 40GB total content, BD content protection kept intact (to keep original copy intact)Ģ.) Can Mount. Anyways, I am experimenting with ripping and converting Blu-Ray content. I finally grabbed a 2x USB powered BD-ROM / DVD-R/W drive. ![]()
